Overview
A Systems Quality Assurance Test engineer works with software, firmware and hardware engineers to evaluate the initial prototype designs, pilot builds, and provide performance data for new and established designs. Works closely with cross functional development teams to ensure a quality product is delivered to the customer.
Responsibilities include:
Perform testing on ICP-OES system software and/or hardware to ensure proper performance, long-term stability, reliability, robustness and customer-usability. Evaluate and test new or modified hardware, firmware, software and/or systems. Document and summarize results for investigative testing. Work with computers including installation, setup, configuration and basic troubleshooting. Consolidate wet lab solutions across all labs in Shelton Work with and follow proper safety measures while using hazardous chemicals. General maintenance of laboratory equipment used for testing. General housekeeping of supplies and chemicals used in labs. Job Requirements:
College course work towards a bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with instrument and/or software experience. Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment with potentially changing priorities and deadlines Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills Experience with Microsoft office, Excel, Word and Power point Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability Ability to learn new software applications and operating system platforms with minimal guidance Compensation:
The annual compensation range for this internship is $15 - $20/hr. The final hourly rate offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
