We have an immediate need for the role of Business Development Manager, North America, Environment and Safety, to continue our strong record of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives on developing new markets, building customer relationships, and has experience in gas analysis.
As the Business Development Manager for Perma Pure LLC. Environment and Safety, you will be instrumental in identifying new markets and customers to accelerate future growth opportunities in the field of gas analysis. In addition, you will work with the Perma Pure team to further enhance our customer base within OEM’s, integrators, and CEM’s markets.
Many of our solutions are powered by Nafion™ tubing—it selectively transfers water vapor across its membrane and can remove up to 90% of water vapor from a wet gas stream or add water vapor into dry gas stream. While transferring water vapor, it also maintains analytes in the gas sample or stream.
You will specifically be expected to:
• Target strategic customers in the Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry/Gas Analyzer markets obtain new revenue producing projects and share of wallet gains where necessary.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and end-users in the CEMS market.
• Develop tailored sales strategies to grow Perma Pure’s presence with customers across the value chain, promoting Nafion®-based gas sample dryers, complete conditioning systems, Baldwin Cooler line, heated lines, and other complementary products.
• Drive customer engagement through direct outreach, presentations, and technical discussions to understand customer requirements and align solutions.
Technical & Regulatory Expertise
• Provide potential customers with expert guidance on Perma Pure’s wide range of products and their integration into broader CEMS systems and analyzers.
• Stay informed on industry regulations (e.g., EPA Part 60/75, EU Industrial Emissions Directive, ISO standards) and advise customers on compliant solutions.
• Identify and recommend improvements to customer systems to enhance performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Customer Engagement & Solution Development
• Build long-term relationships with OEMs, integrators, and end-users, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty to Perma Pure’s brand.
• Engage with companies in the Gas Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and other gas analyzer sectors to gain audience for introduction to Perma Pure offerings
• Collaborate with engineering teams to customize solutions that meet specific client needs, particularly for complex or unique applications.
• Act as the voice of the customer to internal teams, influencing product development and ensuring alignment with market demands.
• Conduct on-site technical evaluations and training for customers and partners as needed.
Collaboration & Market Insight
• Partner with distributors and integrators to develop mutually beneficial strategies for market penetration and growth.
• Provide market intelligence on competitors, emerging technologies, and new applications to strengthen Perma Pure’s competitive position.
• Represent Perma Pure at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
KPIs & Reporting
• Achieve sales growth targets with measurable success in increasing market share among OEMs, integrators, and end-users.
• Utilize CRM tools to manage the sales pipeline, customer relationships, and forecasting.
• Prepare reports and forecasts on sales performance, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform business strategy.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Gas sample conditioning, analyzer design, or related technical industries, with a strong focus on business development or technical sales into OEMs.
• Proven experience working with OEM, especially in the Gas Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry fields, as well as system integrators, and end-users in industrial markets such as renewable energy power, oil and gas, petrochemicals, and process controls.
• General knowledge in emissions monitoring technologies, including gas analyzers, sample conditioning components, and heated sample lines.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, EU directives), and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and technical solutions for diverse customers.
• Must have proficiency in using CRM systems to track sales activity, manage customer interactions, and develop sales forecasts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%).
Preferred Skills:
• Established network of existing contacts/relationships with OEMs, gas analysis, integrators, and end-users in key markets mentioned above. Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry network a Plus.
• Proficiency with CRM tools as a tool for data-driven approach to sales management.
• Knowledge of related technologies, such as process analyzers, air quality monitoring, and industrial automation systems.
