Overview
The Finance Manager will possess a strong financial expertise and hands-on experience in shipbuilding, heavy industries, or large-scale manufacturing projects. The role will oversee management and financial accounting, lead consolidated reporting to Korea HQ, and support project cost control for shipyard operations in the U.S. This role requires bilingual proficiency (Korean/English) and strong communication skills to effectively coordinate between the U.S. team and Korea HQ.

Work to ensure that everyone inside the yard, own as well as subcontractors, are safe and are performing their work in accordance with our CORE principles
Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met
Management & Financial Accounting
Handle full-cycle accounting operations, including monthly/quarterly/year-end close
Manage cost accounting for shipbuilding projects and support project profitability analysis
Track and report project-level and company-wide financial performance
Perform budget planning, forecast updates, variance and margin analysis for shipyard operations
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and support Korean HQ with K-IFRS reporting when required
Consolidated Reporting to HQ (Korea)
Prepare consolidated financial reports, cash flow reports, and ad-hoc analysis for Korea HQ
Ensure timely and accurate submission of HQ reporting packages and schedules
Communicate directly with Korean HQ finance/accounting teams and resolve cross-border issues
Monitor intercompany transactions and support related party reporting
Project & Cost Control (Shipbuilding Focus)
Monitor shipbuilding project costs, milestone-based revenue recognition, and cost accruals
Work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Procurement teams for cost validation
Support the development of Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and project financial health checks
Assist in controlling project change orders and cost overruns
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Establish and maintain internal controls around financial processes and project costing
Assist in audit preparation, tax filings, and compliance with local and federal regulations
Support ERP system operation (Oracle/SAP/or equivalent) and recommend process improvements
Perform other related duties as required and assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)
7+ years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in shipbuilding, heavy industry, construction, or large-scale manufacturing
Strong knowledge of US GAAP (K-IFRS knowledge is a strong plus)
Experience with project-based accounting, cost control, and WIP management
Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent)
Bilingual in Korean and English (verbal and written communication skills required)
Experience working in a shipyard or marine industry preferred
Familiarity with long-term project revenue recognition methods (POC, milestone-based) preferred
Experience coordinating with international HQ, especially Korean conglomerates preferred
Understanding of U.S. tax compliance and audit process preferred

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an on-site, full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department. Days and hours are determined by department schedule.
