Job Description:
- The Phlebotomist I will assist in performing various assigned duties including blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data recording, and workflow improvements.
- The role requires collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, explaining the venipuncture process to patients, and demonstrating techniques using straight or butterfly needles.
- Additional responsibilities include matching laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes, labeling and packaging specimens for transport, maintaining sample integrity, complying with safety regulations, attending trainings, and responding to telephone inquiries.
Requirement/Must Have:
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, if required.
- Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled in drawing both pediatric and geriatric patients.
Qualification and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0–2 years of related experience.
