Position: Waste Specialist
Location: Erwin, TN 37650
Duration: 6-month contract to hire
Compensation: $55-65/hr.
Required Skills & Experience
U.S. Department of Energy Security Clearance
Experience with shipping, radioactive material, low level, hazardous waste, electronics, recyclables etc.
DOT 49 CFR certification (advanced waste shipper certification training)
Job Description
oversees manufacturing, quality control, and subcontractor processes to ensure acceptable products. It may involve leading a group of technicians and making independent decisions on technical problems and methods. The role includes ensuring compliance with federal and state waste regulations for the NFS Transportation/Waste Management programs, handling the safe transportation of radioactive and hazardous waste nationwide, and managing waste characterization, packaging, storage, and disposition in line with RCRA, TSCA, NRC, and DOT standards.
