General Summary
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the processes involved in producing HVAC replacement coils. Your responsibilities include assisting in the design, implementation, and improvement of these production processes. You will focus on ensuring product quality, optimizing cost-effectiveness, and enhancing efficiency across production lines. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production challenges and drive continuous improvement.
Essential Job Duties
- Analyze, develop, and implement improvements to manufacturing processes related to HVAC coils production, aiming for optimal performance in areas such as coil assembly, tubing, and finning processes.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to create and implement testing procedures, identify product defects, and execute corrective actions to uphold high standards of product quality and reliability.
- Assist in setting up, calibrating, and maintaining production machinery. Work together with the maintenance team to ensure that machinery and tools are operating effectively.
- Support the daily operations of the production floor by resolving engineering-related issues, addressing production delays, and ensuring compliance with production schedules.
- Keep precise records of manufacturing processes, equipment manuals, quality reports, and change orders. Generate regular reports on production performance, cycle times, and downtime.
- Collaborate effectively with design, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure a smooth production flow, reduce waste, and enhance output.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency through lean manufacturing principles or other process improvement methodologies.
- Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with company safety policies and industry standards. Participate in safety audits and help develop safe work practices.
- Deliver technical training to operators and production staff to improve their skills and ensure compliance with established procedures.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor/3D Modeling).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience
- Entry level (0-3 years) experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
- Familiarity with HVAC coil design, fabrication, or assembly processes is a plus.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing software (ERP systems, CAD/CAM systems) is a plus.
Education
- Associate’s degree in an engineering field (mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, etc) is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, etc) is preferred.
