QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid Idaho Administrator’s Certificate endorsed in School Principal K-12
Master’s Degree in School Administration, Supervision, Curriculum, and School Finance
Prior administrative experience preferred
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years successful credentialed experiences
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Principal will provide leadership, supervision and evaluation of the instructional program for the school. Responsible for the implementation, and coordination of the school curriculum through an ongoing process of planning for innovation, strategic change, and continual student achievement. Ensures that instructional and support staff receive quality professional development. Establish a school climate which promotes learning, good conduct and positive attitudes and values. Effectively involves parents and community in the on-going educational programs of the school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as an instructional leader who sets a safe, collaborative and supportive culture ensuring all students are successfully prepared to meet the requirements for tomorrow’s career and life endeavors
Develops programs that support and enhance student achievement and success
Responsible for facilitating student achievement and growth as measured by district and/or state guidelines
Understands and clearly articulates to staff the connections among curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices
Implements data informed strategies that align content standards, curriculum, teaching and learning, and assessment
Fosters an innovative, progressive culture based on a commitment to continuous improvement
Acts as an advocate and provides a voice for students, staff and parents
Collaboratively develops and implements a school improvement plan that supports increased student achievement and success
Fosters an environment in which research based practices and critical reflection are key components
Attends and participates taking a leadership role on committees and in various meetings to include 504, IEP and MDT meetings as required or requested
Celebrates student achievement
Provides all students opportunities to access district programs and have success in those programs
Promotes high achievement for all students, particularly for those who have been vulnerable to failure
Selects, supports, evaluates, and/or retains high quality instructional and support personnel
Provides constructive and professional feedback, coaching and mentoring to the school staff
Provide opportunities for professional growth and development, attainment of district and building instructional goals and implementation of curriculum for staff
Celebrates staff achievement
Provides leadership, vision and inspiration to staff and students
Communicates to staff and community a clear vision of achieving excellence in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the District
Is proactive in shaping the future of education in the District and the State of Idaho by promoting their school, the profession, and by publicizing success in education
Maintains high visibility and devotes considerable time to interact with students, staff, and the community
Encourages parent participation and active contributions within the school from all stakeholders
Ensures the efficient and safe use of the school and facility
Creates a safe and productive learning environment for students and staff
Models and promotes respect for the diversity of student backgrounds, experiences, and learning approaches
Oversees, supervises and supports coaches and activities to include student interest organizations, competitive and non-competitive activities, etc.
Oversees the inspection of buildings and grounds for safety and hazards and recommends alterations to and general improvement of facilities
Promotes a values-driven culture of equity and excellence
Develops school-wide discipline and behavior policies
Maintains data and records in a safe and secure manner
Provides a safe, respectful and supportive school environment for students, staff, volunteers, and patrons based on district values
Plans, prepares and administers the school budget according to school district guidelines
Allocates resources equitably
Development and continual review of the school’s budget and resources to support the strategic plan and priorities
Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Exempt Position working 210 days for Grades K-8 and 230 days for Grades 9-12. This position is contracted on an Idaho State Approved Administrator Contract.
