We are looking for a highly qualified candidate for a Private Wealth Strategist position within our Private Wealth Management group. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong presentation, organizational, and analytical skills. The Private Wealth Strategist will support advisory teams located in New York, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles, as well as nationwide, alongside a New York-based team of planning professionals on all financial and estate planning functions.
Job Description
The Private Wealth Strategist duties include:
- Providing cash flow analysis, income tax planning, asset protection, charitable planning, and estate and wealth transfer strategies, focusing on pre-liquidity event planning for business owners and corporate executives undergoing exit or sale. Knowledge of QSBS tax planning, tax treatment, executive compensation plans, stock options, restricted stock holdings, and planning for non-U.S. citizens is essential.
- Developing, consulting on, and implementing tax, estate, and financial plans for firm colleagues, financial advisors, and clients. Collaborating with financial advisors and internal partners to assess clients’ goals and current situations to determine appropriate planning solutions.
- Attending meetings in person or virtually with financial advisors, internal partners, and management to deepen existing client relationships and support new business efforts in relevant markets.
- Interacting with financial advisors and investment banking colleagues on their business owner, corporate executive, and corporate client relationships.
- Working with internal and external partners to promote estate, tax, and financial planning capabilities of the Private Wealth Management group to expand business footprint.
- Representing Jefferies Wealth Management at industry-wide events, writing and publishing whitepapers on wealth planning topics, and presenting at internal and external meetings or conferences.
- Partnering with the Head of Planning to train and educate financial advisors on wealth planning strategies and solutions.
Experience and Skills
- 10+ years of comprehensive planning experience working with high-net-worth clients and families.
- Experience with planning for business owners and senior management-level corporate executives.
- JD or CPA; LLM designation preferred.
- Professional network, e.g., law firms, accounting firms, trust companies, and local market knowledge.
- Life Insurance License (or commitment to obtain within 6 months).
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Familiarity with financial planning tools such as eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, etc.
- Proficiency with MS applications like Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and client deliverables.
Primary location: Full-time. Salary range: $200,000 - $250,000.
