The
Production Planning Supervisor
manages a team of 5 planners and leads all planning activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. They oversee stockout management by maintaining the plant stockout dashboard, highlighting current and projected supply risks. The role functions as the subject matter expert on planning and scheduling activities in SAP. The supervisor ensures all NPI activities are completed successfully before project launch, including cost analysis based on product configuration and manufacturing processes. They collaborate with the process development team for product BOMs and with the supply chain team to ensure material availability. They identify scrap or excess supply pre- and post-launch based on forecasts and actual sales, and conduct post-launch forecast reviews. Key responsibilities include executing MRP in SAP, maintaining mid- and long-term production plans for raw materials, staffing, equipment, and outsourcing. They establish and maintain finite production schedules, monitor daily exceptions, analyze data, and resolve issues. They analyze inventory trends, optimize safety stocks and batch sizes, and develop reports to improve workflow. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams in a global matrix organization. How You'll Make An Impact:
Support product launches with NPI activities, including cost analysis and material availability. Maintain and optimize production plans based on forecasts and capacity constraints. Communicate plant capacities and constraints to stakeholders. Establish and maintain production schedules to meet delivery deadlines. Monitor and resolve production bottlenecks and conflicts. Generate and analyze scheduling metrics and reports, recommending improvements. Manage product lifecycle projects to ensure product availability and minimize scrap. What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Management, or related field. 6+ years of planning and scheduling experience in a LEAN manufacturing environment. Experience with SAP production planning and detailed scheduling. Ability to lead project teams, especially in NPI. Certifications like APICS CPIM and Green Belt training are a plus. Experience mentoring junior staff. Additional Information:
