Psychiatrist (Board Certified) Hourly - GRHA
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Hourly Psychiatrist at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.
Candidates should be Board Certified in Psychiatry with a career interest and/or experience in public hospital psychiatry. In conjunction with a comprehensive treatment team, the Psychiatrist addresses the clinical needs of Adult and Forensic consumers, and provides emergent assessment and treatment to patients during off hours. Provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatment for individuals brought into Admissions. The Psychiatrist will also review referrals received from outside facilities to screen for appropriateness for admission to GRH/Atlanta. Additionally, the Psychiatrist provides medical care to inpatients when needed. The hours vary from 5:30 PM to midnight and/or 8 AM-8 PM or 8 PM-8 AM and include weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent mental illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team
- Experience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, forensic psychiatry
- Completed Residency in Psychiatry
- Board Certified as a practicing Psychiatrist
