The Psychiatrist is responsible for diagnosing psychiatric illness and implementing pharmacological treatment. The Psychiatrist works closely with the interdisciplinary medical and behavioral health team to ensure the provision of quality service. Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing psychiatric services to clients during scheduled hours, including outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management services. Assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals experiencing symptoms of a behavioral health disorder. Prescribing, recommending, and discontinuing drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Collaborating and educating guardians, relatives, and significant others on the client’s conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate. Examining or ordering laboratory or diagnostic tests for clients to provide information on general physical conditions and mental disorders. Ensuring timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, progress notes, outcome measures, and billing entries. Conferring with professional staff and other agencies/providers regarding care and treatment for patients receiving psychiatric services, and participating in monthly interdisciplinary team meetings. Participating in monthly interdisciplinary medical meetings. Complying with social distancing, adherence to PPE, and infection protocols. Expected Hours to Work: Flexibility in work schedule, with work hours falling between 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Work Location: This work can be performed both in-person or hybrid. Full remote work is subject to change due to regulations. Locations are in Brookville and Freeport. Qualifications
Medical degree conferred by an accredited college or university required. Board Certification and New York State licensure required. 24 Continued Medical Education (CME) credits per credentialing cycle (2 years). Healthcare Provider CPR/AED Certification. Prior experience with IDD/ASD population preferred. Experience with community healthcare operations and familiarity with Federally Qualified Health Care organizations preferred. Strong ability to support the Medical Director to provide excellent quality of care to patients required. Strong oral, written, and organizational skills required. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing requirements required. Familiarity and ability to efficiently navigate EHR, experience with ECW a plus. Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulatory requirements required. National Provider Identifier. Child/adolescent or geriatric experience a plus.
