The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Purchase College, SUNY produces an annual season of 20 unique works of theatre at a variety of production scales to include those fully realized by BFA student design and technical teams with significant materials budgets, as well as student-produced projects with extremely limited departmental support.
This position reports to the Conservatory Production Manager and regularly collaborates with students, staff, and faculty.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in theatrical production and shop management, possess superior organizational, leadership, budgeting and interpersonal communication/collaboration skills, and be committed to providing conservatory training within the context of a public undergraduate institution. Fluency in all aspects of technical theatre, close familiarity with theatrical shop operations, construction and maintenance of theatrical facilities are essential. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. A willingness to adapt professional skills to an educational environment is essential.
