Job Description:
RVE is seeking an engineer with strong analytical, technical, project management, client relationship and leadership capabilities that is ready to take the step in his/her career to run our MEP Division in the Asheville, NC office. This individual will engage with our existing Project Managers as well as our existing Division Leader to partner and grow familiarity with our existing projects and client such that a smooth transition into MEP leadership takes place.
Primary Duties
This individual will grow to handling the following job duties:
• Provide leadership and guidance to engineers in the application of cutting-edge technologies.
• Develop and implement MEP design strategies based upon client input as well as compliance with Local, State and Codes and Standards
o Perform studies and assessments to determine clients’ problems, recommend innovative solutions and develop preliminary budgets.
o Perform/oversee the application of advanced sustainability concepts and modeling.
• Acting as the main point of contact and maintaining a good working relationship with Clients
• Negotiating fees, contracts, and deliverables internally and externally.
• Be a driver for Business Development centered on expansion of the MEP Division in Raleigh/Durham region of North Carolina.
• Lead the bidding of work for the RVE MEP Division, Asheville NC Office and collaborate with RVE Asheville and Durham Site/Civil staff and Cherry Hill HQ Technical & Marketing Support Staff for multi-disciplinary bids.
• Responsible for seeking new opportunities with new clients and securing work for the MEP team.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• You will be responsible for day to day engineering duties, leading by example, managing the RVE MEP Division, Asheville, NC Office team.
• Ensuring adequate resource levels within the office.
• Hiring new staff and managing the team structure. • Reviewing project performance.
• Be a driving force in achieving Excellence within the RVE MEP Division, Asheville, NC Office team.
• Financial forward planning, setting, managing, and achieving targets and budgets.
• Ensuring Compliance with the business management system.
• Will report directly to MEP Division Principal in RVE Cherry Hill, NJ Headquarters
Candidate Specification
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, master’s a plus. Licensed to Practice Engineering in the state of North Carolina.
• Will have exemplary client management skills and will be able to easily maintain relationships while simultaneously growing the business and winning new work and clients.
• Will be experienced in the design and construction of innovative and technically challenging buildings and MEP Systems
• Experience in design management and MEP Engineering Design of K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Municipal and State facilities . • Have an existing network of contacts for potential projects.
• Proven record of preparing qualifications-based proposals and winning work.
• Experience of managing teams of MEP Engineers and technical staff as well as acting as project manager for major design projects.
• Work with firm principals to shape the future of the business and develop effective strategies to further grow the business unit.
• Technically capable when it comes to the design of your engineering discipline and able to act as the Engineer in responsible Charge of the work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Work requires frequent and prolonged computer use. May occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
