Description JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Zaagichigaazowin Home Visitor; Family Foundations Home Visiting (FFHV) LOCATION: Red Cliff Childcare Center WAGE: $18-$20/hour; 40 hours/week, Plus Benefits SUPERVISOR: FFHV Program Manager, Education Division Administrator THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION. JOB SUMMARY: The Zaagichigaazowin Home Visitor serves expectant families and families in the Early Childhood age range (Prenatal/Birth up to age 5). Their goal is to maintain connection during pregnancy, post-partum and early childhood periods and serve as a consistent support as families navigate parenthood.
Examples of Duties DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct initial family assessments and plan for services with families. Provide bi-weekly home visits. Home visit schedule variation is acceptable, depending on client preference and home visitor case load. Other forms of communication such as telephone, email, texting, or virtual modalities will be used to maintain contact and augment visits. This position will use the evidenced based home visiting model Parents as Teachers for home visits. Certification must be obtained within the 90 day probationary period. Must plan and document home visits in an organized and timely manner according to the Parent's as Teachers guidelines. Enter timely documentation and visits into Visit Tracker and DIASEY software programs. Home Visitor will administer screens and assessments in accordance to grant and curriculum requirements, training will be provided. Work closely with other ZHV staff such as the program doula to support individual family needs and case management. Organize and/or facilitate required family and community group connections monthly. Encourage father or other significant person and/or other family member involvement early and throughout program participation with all activities. Maintain an active caseload of expectant, newly delivered and post-partum families with children ages 0 - 5. Understand the unique needs and strengths of each family and co-create a service support plan, which may include knowledge and information related to fetal and child development and parenting skills. Encourage participation in educational/supportive groups such as childbirth preparation, breastfeeding and parenting classes and joint socializations with ECC Home Base program, language table and other cultural/community groups. Promote a working environment noted for effective cooperation and collaboration between programs, services, and co-workers. Maintain a clean & safe work environment. Advance job knowledge and skills through continuing education efforts with supervisor approval. Mandated reporter training. Attend staff and other meetings, in-services, and other events as directed by supervisor. Knowledge of early childhood growth and development, parent-child relationships, child health and family systems in Native American communities. Ability to incorporate Ojibwe teachings and traditions into home visiting when requested by families. Knowledge of computer and software programs include Microsoft Office suite. Ability to positively connect with families and develop trusting relationships built on the best interest of the family to provide services and service coordination without judgement with a focus on family strengths. QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
required . Two years training or experience in perinatal, maternal and child health home visiting or early childhood services within a Native American population,
preferred . Demonstrate flexibility to work on an interdisciplinary team. This is a required driver position, must have a valid driver's license, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver's eligibility as a condition of employment. Must be eligible to be put on the tribe's vehicle insurance policy. Supplemental Information PERSONAL CONTACTS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The duties assigned to this position involve bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying. Items may be placed on overhead shelves. Weights to be carried are usually less than 50 pounds. There will be periods of prolonged standing, walking, or sitting. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to travel and attend meetings and trainings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally. BEHAVIOR AND ATTITUDE :
