We are seeking a talented and customer-focused Field Applications Engineer to join our fast-growing team in Austin. In this role, you will be the technical interface to our customers, supporting them from concept to production with cutting-edge DC/DC power solutions.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Technical Support

• Act as the primary technical interface for customers, understanding their requirements and proposing tailored solutions
• Provide hands-on design support, including schematic reviews, PCB layout guidance, and system optimization for successful outcomes
• Conduct customer design validations and assist with initial bring-ups, including on-site support.
• Design Enablement & Knowledge Sharing
• Collaborate with system and application engineers to deliver technical presentations and training sessions to customers, field teams, and distribution partners
• Support in explaining datasheets, application notes, and technical product features to ensure customers can design in and successfully implement Reed Semiconductor's solutions

Product Development Collaboration

• Collaborate with system engineers to generate silicon validation reports for new products
• Provide customer feedback to the design and marketing teams to influence future product development

Market Insights & Strategy

• Identify market trends and customer challenges to define new product requirements and propose competitive solutions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with technical decision-makers at customer organizations

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a Field Applications Engineer or design engineering role within the semiconductor or power management industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of power electronics, including buck, boost, and flyback topologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Field Applications Engineer or design engineering role within the semiconductor or power management industry.
• Hands-on experience with schematic design, PCB layout, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with high-density power converter topologies and control methods in power supplies; experience with server and GPU power tuning is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
