: Days The community youll be caring for: Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando We offer great benefits with immediate Health Insurance coverage Career growth and advancement potential Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year The role youll contribute: The Regional Director of Engineering strategically plans, develops, coordinates, and administers all activities of the Facilities Engineering Department(s) for large hospitals (over 1,000 licensed beds) and/or multiple healthcare facilities. This may include offsite Emergency Departments (EDs), Medical Office Buildings, Cancer Centers, Rehab or Imaging Centers, and/or other AdventHealth buildings and/or programs to ensure safe and efficient building operations. Provides administrative leadership to Engineering Managers. Interacts and develops positive relationships with regulatory agencies including Federal, State, Local, and Accreditation. Ensures all areas of responsibility meet NFPA, EPA, NIAHO, ASHRAE, DNV, OSHA, AHCA, Water Management and other requirements relating to the hospital, system utilities, and equipment. Works in conjunction with AdventHealth System and hospital departments including but not limited to: Safety, Emergency Management, Accreditation, Control Systems, Construction, Biomed, Environmental Services, Security, Transportation, Food and Nutrition, Laundry, CMMS, and Facility Condition Assessment. Supports and networks with campus executives and staff at multiple campus and outlier locations to support their key business and operational objectives. Engages with stakeholders in the planning, design, and execution of new projects and ensures effective engineering support. Serves as an integral part of the System Facilities Support Administration team under a single hospital license and in accordance with ISO 9001 and DNV requirements. Works with System peers and Corporate personnel to develop and implement standardized processes and procedures for use at all hospitals in the region to achieve service consistency that meets customer, regulatory, and System requirements. The value youll bring to the team: Strategically plans, develops, and oversees engineering operations at multiple campuses, facilities, and offsite locations to ensure the utility systems, new construction, and the physical environment are well-maintained, operationally sound and meet all regulatory standards of compliance. Works in conjunction with the Facility Condition Assessment Team and hospital administration to develop an annual plan to allocate capital funding resources to infrastructure project requirements. Develops and oversees department budgets of over $10M, incorporating long and short-term goals, forecasting personnel, equipment, and professional development needs. Effectively prioritizes capital requirements to optimize use of available resources. Promotes and participates in System process improvements, best practice sharing, resource sharing and peer support. Develops and mentors Managers and other Directors with a focus on people development and succession planning. Builds and supports effective relationships with hospital leadership, internal and external stakeholders, and outside organizations. Maintains the AdventHealth Water Management Program(s), ensuring compliance and the safety of utility and potable water systems. Communicates the department vision; translating it into actionable processes and activities, maximizing management staff's contributions ensuring timely decision-making which reflects the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization. Implement culture changing philosophies and programs to improve productivity and cost savings. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED: Strong technical knowledge of large mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and engineering operations with the ability to problem solve and provide concise and accurate information to leaders and executives. Expert level presentation, verbal and written communication skills that aids in decision making. Thorough knowledge of AHCA, CMS, DOH, DNV, OSHA, State Department of Environmental Protection, and NFPA standards as well as other applicable healthcare industry codes. Excellent time management skills including the ability to effectively establish priorities and manage multiple projects. Ability to lead and positively effect and guide managers to obtain optimal performance and operational excellence in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, oral, and mathematical skills including ability to understand and interpret statistical data and develop operations and capital budgets. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Thorough knowledge of the Systems Engineering Approach pertaining to Facility Operations & Maintenance Reliability-centered Maintenance (RCM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Technologies What you will need to succeed: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. Seven years of Director-level experience in engineering / facilities, plant operations or closely related field. EDUCATION PREFERRED: Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Seven+ years' experience in a large acute healthcare facility environment. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Valid Class "E" Florida Driver's license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy #J-18808-Ljbffr
