Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant position is a part-time, in-office position. This individual will support the Chief Financial Officer in the day-to-day accounting functions including payroll processing, accounts payable and other accounting functions as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing accounting functions related to daily operations of the organization, including processing deposits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and benefit processing and monthly maintenance of general ledger accounts.
- Assists CFO with month-end close out, including assistance with bank reconciliations.
- Assists CFO with annual IRS Form 1099 filings, tax donation letters and other required filings.
- Reconciliation of each event's financial activity and coordination with event staff to determine appropriate accounting treatment of revenues and expenses.
- Coordinates with Operations to conduct feed room inventory counts.
- Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of budget and accounting practices
- Based on business needs, ability to work overtime
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite/QuickBooks
