Position Summary : This role supports the YMCA's mission by planning and leading thematic enrichment programs for school-age children, ensuring their well-being in line with YMCA and NYS guidelines. Responsibilities : Plan, organize, and lead daily program activities; prepare lesson plans for parents and substitutes. Align activities with YMCA objectives and NYS regulations. Maintain safety, health, and moral standards; manage behavior positively. Model appropriate behavior and foster YMCA character values. Provide nutritious snacks following HEPA guidelines. Complete incident reports and communicate with parents as needed. Maintain attendance and participant records, conduct safety drills, and supervise staff. Attend meetings, lead special events, and ensure cleanliness and safety of the environment. Assist with vacation and snow day programs, and handle additional duties as assigned. Qualifications : High School diploma or equivalent, with experience working with children under 13. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of YMCA goals and age-appropriate activities. NYS OCFS Requirements : Complete health and background checks, including fingerprinting and SCR/SCL clearance within specified timeframes. Training & Certifications : Complete required online and in-person trainings, including CPR, AED, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and Medication Administration within designated periods. Leadership Competencies : Effective communication, inclusion, and critical thinking skills are essential. Physical & Work Environment : Must be able to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in environments with moderate to high noise levels and potential exposure to illnesses. Pay Range :
$16 per hour
