Overview
Our client, a specialty finance firm operating in the private credit and venture lending space, is seeking a Valuations & SEC Reporting Analyst to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to both the valuation of complex investment portfolios and the preparation of SEC filings. The position is ideal for individuals with a background in audit or financial reporting who are ready to deepen their exposure to Level 3 investment valuation and public company disclosure. This is a hybrid role based in the San Mateo, CA area, with an expectation of 4 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Support quarterly valuations of a diversified investment portfolio, including equity, warrants, and debt instruments
- Prepare valuation-related journal entries, schedules, and disclosures for internal and SEC reporting
- Assist in the preparation and review of 10-Q, 10-K, and other SEC filings using Workiva
- Monitor regulatory changes and update financial disclosures accordingly
- CPA or advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3 years of experience in audit or accounting, with exposure to Level 3 valuations and SEC reporting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Excel skills with experience consolidating and analyzing complex datasets
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $110K - $120K per year. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
