The Eastchester School District is seeking a reliable and responsible individual to work as School Bus Attendant, full training provided.
Duties:
Supervision of students on the school bus (morning and afternoon routes) to ensure bus rules are followed and students are safe on the school bus or other school vehicles. Assist in loading and unloading of students at bus stops including getting on and off the bus at each stop and crossing the street if necessary. Provide school bus safety instructions to students when necessary. Assist school bus drivers in creating written emergency evacuation plans on vehicles. Assist in conducting required school bus emergency drills. Take attendance on each school bus shift. Assign seats for students on the school bus. Write and submit student conduct reports or incident reports as required. Become familiar with District school bus routes and school bus stop locations. Be aware of and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to pupil transportation. Requirements:
Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Required physical performance testing per NY Department of Education regulations (arranged by the District). Attend all required training including pre-service and bi-annual in-service training (coordinated by the District). Ability to work effectively and remain patient and caring with elementary school age children. Ability to establish good working relationships with students, parents, and school personnel. Ability to take oral and written directives. Employment Terms: Hours: 7:00AM- 9:00AM & 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (hours may vary), assigned as needed Salary: $38.00 per hour
