Primary Purpose
Sempra Infrastructure seeks an outstanding compliance attorney with significant expertise in the energy industry, specifically a core leadership role to maintain and strengthen Sempra Infrastructure's compliance and ethics program, including the anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance program (ABAC) across the Company and its Business Units in the US and internationally. The Compliance Counsel will collaborate with Legal, Risk, HR, Finance, Business, and Internal Audit teams to advance the ABAC program and ensure compliance with applicable laws, reducing risk for the Company.

Responsibilities
- Implement and manage Sempra Infrastructure’s Compliance and ABAC programs, including due diligence, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance and effective communication of policies and training.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compliance initiatives, recommending improvements based on industry best practices and legal changes.
- Prepare reports, facilitate compliance reviews, and engage with stakeholders across the organization.
- Assist in developing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Collaborate with Risk Management to mitigate higher risks and report on compliance metrics.
- Support the deployment of compliance technology solutions and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- J.D. or LL.M from an accredited law school
- 5+ years of experience in corporate law, compliance programs, and commercial transactions
- 3+ years in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Member in good standing of a US State Bar
- Ability to occasionally travel within the U.S. and Mexico; proficiency in Spanish preferred
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of the energy industry, especially LNG, power, or natural gas sectors
- Strong legal analysis, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships across complex organizations and work independently
- Experience in developing and implementing corporate compliance programs
- Ability to translate business goals into contractual language and provide commercially minded legal support
