The Sr. Director, Marine Asset Management, will play a pivotal role in leading our efforts to transition towards a more data driven approach to asset management. The responsibility of this role includes developing and implementing strategies to maximize the value of our assets (ships), monitoring their performance, and preparing transparent decision insights to make the right decisions about repairs, maintenance, and technical upgrades. This role is part of Global Marine Operations, technical operations and reports into the SVP for Marine Technical Operations. The Sr. Director, Marine Asset management is responsible for the oversight, development, management, and leadership of Royal Caribbean Group’s marine asset management strategy when it comes to operational insights and decision support. Responsible for developing and executing the short- and long-term asset management strategies of ships and main components, roadmap and target setting. The position is responsible for the development and driving the overall corporate marine asset management platform (AMOS). Main areas of responsibility include spearheading the strategy related repair & maintenance optimization across Brands and ship classes, asset health monitoring, data collection, analytics, performance monitoring, benchmark, follow-up on the operational excellence across the fleet including digitalization & change management. The position manages a global team of asset managers, specialists and data engineers/analysts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement marine asset management strategies and plans to optimize the value and performance of the company's physical assets including (but not limited to): Strategic Maintenance Program: Develop, implement, and maintain fleet wide maintenance strategies including Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) and Maintenance Optimization (the reduction, and/or consolidation of, maintenance tasks to minimize cost and risk whilst increasing the efficiency of available man hours within the fleet through standardization) Inventory Optimization Program: Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control practices for shore side and shipboard installations to fully utilize existing inventory and minimize excessive spend and risk. Lead a team of marine asset managers, specialists and data engineers/analysts to ensure efficient and effective management of our marine assets. Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings. Collaborate with other departments to align marine asset management activities with organizational goals. Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards related to asset management. Evaluate the financial impact of asset management decisions and make recommendations for optimization. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report asset performance ensuring transparency and accountability. Provide regular updates and reports to senior- and executive leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities when it comes to asset management. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and external partners to support the marine asset management activities. Engage with external partners, regulatory bodies, and industry organizations to advocate for sustainable practices and contribute to industry-wide initiatives around best practices of asset management. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing the inventory cost together with colleagues in Marine Technical Operation teams. Strategizes with financial and accounting teams on economic feasibility analysis for project options, alternatives, and life cycle costs. Responsible for the development of practices and efficiencies that increase value of both maintenance practices and the efficiency of own department. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Asset Management, Business Administration, Engineering, etc.). 10+ years of experience in asset management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of asset management principles, practices, and regulations. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful asset management strategies. Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. Experience in managing a team and collaborating with cross-functional teams. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong leadership skills and proven experience in leading a medium to large size team of professionals. Solid written and verbal communications skills; particularly within a multicultural environment. Clear and precise communication with all levels of the organization is essential. Strong ability to interact with senior management team and build effective relationships within the company as well as with internal and external customers. Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support the overall business needs. Strong decision-making skills considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Creativity and strategic thinker. Detail oriented with excellent analytical, financial and spreadsheet modeling skills. Understanding of advanced Engineering concepts, design theories and technical drawings necessary to assist in special project and dry dock planning. Excellent organization and presentation skills with the ability to clearly and effectively present information to top management and public groups. Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities. Software: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project required. Internal candidates: Knowledge of AMOS, the CAR process, budget, approval, reconciliation and reporting. Language requirements: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific, engineering, and technical journals, business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents, and government regulations.
