Overview
As a SCADA Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal operation and enhancement of SCADA and ADMS systems for all clients. This role involves the conceptual design, development of performance specifications, detailed design and integration, as well as the ongoing maintenance of these systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, program, and deploy SCADA hardware and software components, including HMIs, RTUs, PLCs, and communication protocols.
- Ensure SCADA systems are compliant with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulations.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to safeguard SCADA systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions, software bugs, and issues; perform routine maintenance, updates, and system backups.
- Analyze real-time and historical data to identify trends and detect potential issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of SCADA system configurations, network diagrams, and operating procedures.
- Manage the full system lifecycle, including conceptual design, performance specifications, implementation, and integration.
- Collaborate with other engineering team members to enhance understanding of SCADA systems and troubleshooting practices.
- Develop a solid understanding of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 5 to 8 years of experience as a SCADA/Automation/ADMS Engineer or in a similar role, including at least 2 years of experience with substation or power system distribution SCADA systems.
- Expertise in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Survalent, SEL, OSI, etc.).
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, DNP3).
- Experience with PLC/RTU programming and configuration.
- Knowledge of network design and cybersecurity principles related to SCADA systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional communication abilities, with the capability to work effectively with clients, senior leadership, and junior team members.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
- The candidate must be able to obtain Military Base Security Access Clearance.
