Overview
pSemi Corporation (a Murata company) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Staff Engineer to join our Business Development team. This role focuses on providing high-level technical and application support to Tier 1 mobile handset customers in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the goal of expanding pSemi’s and Murata’s RF Front-End (RFFE) product portfolio.
This is a hands-on customer-facing role that requires a deep understanding of RF systems, cellular front-end module (FEM) and IC design, and the ability to lead technical discussions and product definition efforts.
Roles & Responsibilities
Serve as the technical point of contact for Tier 1 customers, providing responsive and proactive support. Drive customer engagement through technical roadmaps, design reviews, and on-site visits. Translate customer requirements into actionable design goals for internal engineering teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Systems, and Engineering in both the U.S. and Japan. Support design-in efforts by providing real-time guidance on design tradeoffs and product performance. Conduct advanced RF measurements at both the component and system level to validate product performance. Monitor and analyze competitive products and market trends to influence product strategy. Define, negotiate, and document product specifications and technical requirements with customers. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during development and deployment. Coordinate sample and milestone delivery schedules in alignment with customer development timelines.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience And Skills)
BSEE with 12+ years or MSEE with 8+ years of experience in RFFE for mobile communications. 5+ years in technical marketing, module design, applications, or systems engineering. Strong background in RF systems, including FEM design, RF ICs, and wireless communications standards (4G/5G/6G, Wi-Fi, GPS). Deep knowledge of front-end components: filters, PAs, LNAs, RF switches. Experience supporting the full semiconductor product lifecycle. Excellent written and verbal communication, technical writing, and customer engagement skills. Willingness and flexibility to work outside standard business hours to support global team collaboration and urgent customer needs. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of analog and mixed-signal design, PA module and MIPI standards. Experience with semiconductor/module supply chains. Familiarity with RF measurement tools: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc. Active participation in RF industry forums or standards bodies. Understanding of Japanese language and culture (not required, but a plus).
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

USD 157,668.02 - 204,979.78 per year
