The Northlands Job Corps center operates the most advanced technical training Welding Program in the state. We are seeking a talented Welding Instructor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in welding techniques and safety.
- Train students in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes.
- Assist students in achieving certification.
- Maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Three years of direct welding experience; five years preferred.
- Must possess, or obtain, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW certifications within six months of hire.
- Certified Welding Instructor or Inspector highly preferred.
The Northlands Job Corps Center in Vergennes is a residential (some non-residential) technical training school for 16-24 year olds from primarily economically challenged backgrounds. Our campus has one of the most diverse student bodies in Vermont, with a mix of both in-state and out-of-state students. Our welding graduates enjoy a 100% placement rate with average first-year wages slightly above that of first-year college graduates.
