Employee Status: Seasonal, Full-time & Part-time hours
Exemption:Hourly, Non-Exempt
Start & End Date: May 1st - October 31st
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hour
Work Schedule: Kitchen operates Monday - Sunday, morning (7:30am - 3pm) and evening (3pm - 11:00pm) shifts available. We have both full and part time schedules available depending on availability and availability to commit through the entire season.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure the availability of clean dishes, cookware, and flatware so your team may continue to deliver delicious meals to restaurant guests and visitors at Shelburne Farms.
- Restock various plateware once they are clean and dry.
- During peak dining hours, this work is very fast paced and requires high attention to detail.
- You will help collect dishware from around the kitchen.
- Load and unload the dishwasher.
- Hand-wash specific specific items as trained.
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately.
- Check and clear out dishwasher for any food debris, and alert management of any mechanical or performance issues.
- Remove garbage and help sanitize the entire kitchen, along with your team, at the end of each shift.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Carrying trays filled with dishes and stemware around the dishwashing area; trays, pots, and pans that weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Working at a dishwashing station where most items and work will be done at a height of about 3 - 4 feet off the ground, with some items higher up (around 5 - 6 feet off the ground).
- Moving on potentially wet flooring.
- Working in warm temperatures in summer months and when the dishwashing machine is operating along with other kitchen equipment.
- Moving very quickly to maintain the pace of kitchen and restaurant staff.
- Movement over uneven terrain while carrying items, including two stairs down to the prep kitchen.
