POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing custodial functions at assigned location(s).
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform regular custodial duties such as mopping, sweeping, dumping trash, cleaning glass, vacuuming, and changing light bulbs.
- Report maintenance and other needs to the Foreman/Lead Engineer in building.
- Lock and un-lock doors in building according to scheduled activities.
- Set-up and clean-up for special events.
- Shovel snow and operate snow removal equipment.
- Perform exterior cleaning duties such as sweeping sidewalks and picking up trash.
- Move furniture and equipment as needed.
- Act as substitute truck driver if needed.
- Perform grounds duties if needed.
- Respond to the needs of building occupants and users.
- Rotate evening and day shift as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to building staff, students and other users.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to operate equipment associated with custodial operations.
- Valid driver’s license; restrictions preventing the operation of district equipment are not allowed.
- Able to follow oral and written directions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, Internet navigation and Microsoft Word.
- Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
- Previous custodial experience.
