The Standard has completed the acquisition of the Employer[AM1] Voluntary Benefits business from Allstate. This deal enhances our competitive position in the market with a comprehensive offering of workplace benefits products and capabilities.
Job Summary
The Voluntary Benefits Underwriting Support Coordinator undergoes training with a mentor to learn the basics of underwriting of Accident, Critical Illness, Disability, Hospital Indemnity. This includes understanding how to underwrite employer group coverage, determining eligibility based on application, product, state signed, etc., and utilizing all other applicable sources to make underwriting decisions.
- Maintain understanding of the basic framework of our processing systems to move work properly.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers through effective communication.
- Process and underwrite specialty products and projects as assigned.
- Make risk selection decisions in a quality, timely, and productive manner.
- Make underwriting decisions as assigned.
- Accurate documentation of group plan design, participation, and rating during annual group product anniversary renewal review
- Suggests business process improvements to gain efficiency within the role.
- Provides feedback at team meetings as well as contributes to learning topics as assigned
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively is a requirement of the role. *
•2+ years of relevant voluntary benefits underwriting or related field experience required.
•High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Salary Range:
21.27 - 28.25
