Job Title: Seasonal Swim Coach (10-20 hours per week)
Location: The Players Club Omaha at Deer Creek
Pay Rate: Starting at $16.00 per hour, with an additional $0.25 per hour increase for each year of coaching or lifeguard experience.
Position Summary:
We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable swim coaches to join our small close-knit team for the summer season! As a swim coach, you will be responsible for leading practices, developing swimmers’ skills, and fostering a positive, encouraging environment. You will work with swimmers of various skill levels, helping them improve their technique, build confidence, and achieve their goals. A certified lifeguard is preferred for this role to ensure the highest level of safety during all practices.
Schedule:
Practices: Held Monday through Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (no practices on Fridays)
Swim Meets: Every Wednesday, typically starting after 3:00 p.m. and running into the evening
Season Duration: June to mid-July
Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, and supervise swim practices and training sessions
- Develop training plans that improve stroke technique, endurance, and speed
- Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to swimmers
- Encourage swimmers to set personal goals and achieve them in a supportive manner
- Maintain a safe and positive environment, monitoring for any potential safety concerns
- Prepare swimmers for swim meets, offering guidance on competition strategy and rules
- Assist with pool setup, organization, and clean up as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard (preferred but not required)
- Previous coaching experience or competitive swimming background
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Ability to work well with swimmers of all ages and skill levels
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the seasonal schedule
