Description
Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) is looking for a
IT Support Technician (Tier 1)
professional to serve as the first point of contact for employees/customers regarding technical assistance, ensuring seamless IT support for end-users at our HQ in
Richmond, VA .
In this role, you will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, respond to service requests, and provide timely, effective solutions. The ideal candidate is highly customer-focused, a strong problem solver, and capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly guidance. What You'll Do Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking Assist with setting up, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, and peripherals Support common software applications, including Microsoft Office 365, email, and VPN connectivity Reset passwords, unlock accounts, and manage user access in Active Directory Document issues and resolutions in the IT ticketing system Escalate unresolved technical issues to Tier II or III as needed Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional, friendly attitude What We're Looking For
Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 1+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar role CompTIA A+ Certification Basic understanding of Windows/macOS operating systems Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, IP configuration) Experience troubleshooting hardware (printers, monitors, docking stations) Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, or Jira) Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to troubleshooting Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Why Join RDA?
