Summary

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing manufacturing operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Activities

1. Overseeing quality control throughout the production process.
2. Assisting the Production Manager with administrative tasks like production schedules and appointing labor.
3. Creating appropriate paperwork for production.
4. Improving scheduling, production process, and workflow, while minimizing labor and waste.
5. Upholding food safety, USDA, FDA, GMPs, HACCP, and other food-related compliances.
6. Identifying and implementing solutions for improving the department and organization.
7. Promoting the growth of the production team through ongoing training and mentoring.
8. Providing continuous updates and recommendations to management.
9. Coordinating and reporting day-to-day activities with the Production Manager.
10. Assisting in hiring and training new team members.
11. Writing original procedures and maintaining the accuracy of existing procedures.
12. Establishing goals for production supervisors and leads.
13. Holding weekly production meetings.
14. Conducting employee training and safety meetings.
15. Clearly and regularly providing management with production, employee, and equipment updates and issues as they arise.
16. Assisting in scheduling regular maintenance on the equipment and handling issues as they occur.

Preferred Skills

1. Preferred knowledge of USDA, FDA, GMPs, ISO 9001, HACCP, and OSHA regulations.
2. Bilingual in English and Spanish ideal, some Spanish required.

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business management, food and beverage management, etc.) or experience in the food and beverage industry.
2. Minimum Experience: 2-4 Years Assistant Production Management.
