Base pay range
$17.00/hr - $19.00/hr
Are you passionate about accounting and eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic team. This position offers valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations of accounting, where you will support our financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments, and other relevant documents into accounting software.
- Record Keeping: Maintain well-organized filing systems for both physical and electronic financial documents.
- Bank Statement Reconciliation: Compare bank statements to the general ledger, identify discrepancies, and assist in resolving any issues.
- Generating Reports: Assist in producing financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and accounts receivable/payable summaries.
- Account Reconciliation: Help balance accounts by verifying that debits and credits match and identifying any inconsistencies.
- Invoice Processing: Review and verify invoices for accuracy before processing payments to vendors or suppliers.
- Cash Handling: Receive and record cash payments and ensure timely deposits to the bank.
- Assisting with Audits: Provide supporting documentation for internal or external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintaining Accounting Databases: Update and manage accounting software with accurate and up-to-date financial information.
- Process Payroll: Prepare weekly payroll and benefits journal entries with accuracy and timeliness and compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Reimburse Expenses: Reimburse employee expenses and maintain accurate records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and similar spreadsheet software; familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.
