Position Title: Phlebotomist Clerk Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

The major duty of this position is the collection of blood specimens for laboratory testing. The majority of patients drawn are inpatients, but the staff is cross-trained to assist in other areas. In addition to phlebotomy, some computer work is required.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

1. One year of healthcare/medical - phlebotomy experience is required.
2. One year of hospital experience is preferred.
3. Computer experience is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

None.
