The Power and Utilities Portfolio Manager - VP
The Power and Utilities Portfolio Manager - VP is responsible for the underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management of power project finance and utility relationships. The Portfolio Manager - VP independently manages the underwriting and ongoing management of new and existing loan transactions, collaborating with relationship managers and the credit approval team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and processing loan modification/amendment requests.
- Tracking covenant compliance and internal portfolio metrics.
- Reviewing legal documentation, maintaining credit files and loan documentation.
- Reviewing borrowing and disbursement requests.
- Interfacing with Risk Management, Legal, Loan Operations, and the Credit Department.
- Assisting with review and quality control of junior staff's work on transactions and annual reviews/modifications.
This person will also:
- Maintain and grow loans, deposits, fee income, and referrals.
- Ensure portfolio administration and risk management align with credit policy, procedures, business strategy, and regulatory guidelines.
- Co-manage relationships by analyzing financial data, assessing loan requests, and recommending structures.
- Partner with Relationship Managers as the primary client contact, liaising with the Credit Department and other internal partners.
- Train and develop junior portfolio staff.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience. Required.
Experience:
- 4+ years in Commercial/Corporate/Real Estate/Specialized Banking and/or Credit Approval. Required.
- 4+ years handling complex credits. Required.
- 3+ years in Specialized Finance - Energy. Strongly preferred.
- 2+ years sales experience. Preferred.
- 2+ years formal credit training. Preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) preferred.
Must have reliable transportation and lawful ability to drive if applicable. Required.
