$0.00 per hour Organization Overview: Tiny Blessings Foundation provides Atlanta-area low-income moms with a month's supply of essential items needed for a newborn, infant, or toddler. The foundation offers 3 age-based packages named blessing boxes. For moms living below the poverty line, purchasing essential items for babies or toddlers is a financial burden often too great to overcome. Offering a blessing box for low-income moms provides essential items for babies or toddlers and is a great unmet need in the Atlanta area. These blessing boxes are provided, free of charge, to low-income mothers and families across virtually all social service sectors: homeless outreach, hospitals, daycares, parenting classes or programs, and many more. Volunteers aid in generating the blessing boxes that are filled with clothing, blankets, diapers, wipes, and other essentials. With help from our volunteers, Tiny Blessings will be able to provide these boxes to low-income families and moms. Position Overview: The Vice President is the chief volunteer representative of the nonprofit. He/she will work closely with the CEO to ensure communication between the staff and board. Core Areas of Responsibilities: Business Leadership:
Serve as vice president to the Board of Directors and support to drive strategic planning and attainment of foundation's objectives. Serves as the second-in-command to the president. The VP may assist the president in their duties, fill in while the president is absent, or take on specific responsibilities assigned by the board. Organizational Policies:
The vice president plans, develops, and enforces policies and objectives for the organization to ensure it maintains its values and meets established goals. Management:
Under the direction of the president, vice president manages employees and the day-to-day activities of the organization. This includes developing responsibilities for the staff, hiring employees, developing and mentoring staff, as well as ensuring the organization accomplishes tasks to meet its overall goals. Engagement:
The vice president creates public awareness initiatives and ensures the organization is visible to the community and those interested in assisting the foundation. This may include assigning staff members to coordinate fundraisers, community events, and other programs to create responsiveness to the organization. Qualifications & Desired Skills: Strategic planning and vision Promotion of process improvement/Change Management Program Leadership and Management Team Building and Development Exceptional Communication and Influencing Skills Excellent management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Declaration of Candidacy: Board positions require a time and energy commitment that should not be underestimated. Candidates are urged to consider personal priorities for the next year as well as the ways to contribute to the development of the organization.
