Roles and Responsibilities:
ONSITE YUMA, AZ
Responsible for performing independent research and providing science and emerging technology expertise based on that research, in support of experimentation and technical demonstrations for US Marine Corps Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One, VMX-1.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on cutting edge technologies while functioning as an expert in leveraging the potential of US Government research and technology development agencies and academia.
Evaluate and provide feedback on the most relevant organizations, programs and operations based on the application of these emerging technologies.
Manage and coordinate new technology projects with all working parties, including, team leaders, engineering, developers, buys, analysts, schedulers, etc.
Critically evaluate emerging technologies to determine potential applications and impacts to Marine Corps aviation operations and identify other areas, programs, departments, and resources in which technologies can be utilized and partnered with.
Coordinate with other organizations to secure ongoing funding for development and implementation.
Provide technical support for digital interoperability and IT initiatives involving networking of military radios, computers, and IT systems.
Represent the squadron at meetings with other Marine Corps and military stakeholders to build partnerships, assist with the demonstration of technology, and provide inputs for the development of requirements.
Communicate clearly and effectively through professional technical writing and verbal briefs to both technical and general audiences.
Provide insight into topics which directly affect the potential impact of demonstration systems and software to USMC and other military aviation activities.
Provide technical understanding of system technologies to assist the Science and Technology Department with activities including data capture development and comprehensive analysis.
Prepare plans and reports for S&T experiments and demonstrations to document results and provide technical recommendations.
Gather, collect, maintain, and process data from different sources in an organized fashion.
Assist Operational Test Directors and test managers with operationally relevant or technical expertise.
Prepare clear, concise, and technical documents for senior leaders.
Provide onsite support to the customer via in-person and telephonic meetings, to include providing input to various contractual and customer driven deliverables.
Support onsite manager in collecting and reviewing content for the Monthly Status Report (MSR).
Assist and participate in additional duties as needed to provide exceptional customer support.
Required Qualifications:
Active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

Demonstrated familiarity with tactical communications vendors and technologies
Experience with Link 16 network design and operations, including Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) training
Knowledge of Link 16 Cryptographic Modernization, Advanced Capabilities, and associated modernization efforts.
Awareness of Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) and the enabling role of TDLs.
Experience with RF waveforms (ANW2, WREN-TSM, TTNT v7.0, BE-CDL) and network development.
Experience with C2 systems (BC3, CAC2S, MANGL) and communications gateways (ADSI, JRE, SNC TRAX, CDLMS C2P) using JREAP, VMF and CoT protocols.
Knowledge of Open Systems Architecture development and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Experience conducting technical and programmatic research and providing information & decision papers.
Graduate of JT-301 Joint Interface Control Officer Course (JICO)
Graduate of JT-310 Advanced Joint Interface Control Cell Operator Course (AJOC)
Graduate of JT-220 Link 16 Unit Manager (LUM) Course
Graduate of JT-102 Multi-TDL Advanced Joint Interoperability Course (MAJIC)
Graduate of US Navy Fighter Weapons School, US Navy SMWDC IAMD Warfare Instructor Course or Amphibious Warfare Instructor Course (WTI), MAWTS-1 Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course, USAF Weapons School, US Army PATRIOT Topgun School
USMC MOS: 06XX Communications, 59XX MACCS Maintenance, 72XX Aviation C2
USAF MOS: 1C5 Battle Management Operations, 1A3 Airborne Mission System Operator
USN NEC: Operations Specialist or Comm Tech
