Wythe County Community Hospital is situated off I-81, exit 70, at 600 West Ridge Road in Wytheville, Virginia. It is a 100-bed facility that has earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. Operating since 1972, WCCH is the only hospital in Wythe County, serving approximately 36,000 individuals in Wythe and Bland counties. The hospital employs over 350 full-time staff and is staffed by over 80 physicians. It operates under the guidance of a Board of Directors. Role and Responsibilities
The
Chief Executive Officer
creates strategic direction for the market while providing operational oversight to ensure business objectives are met. Key duties include: Holding hospital leadership accountable and ensuring the market and hospital have the right talent to achieve objectives. Executing LifePoint’s quality initiatives, service line development, and market synergies related to strategic and operational opportunities. Coordinating and driving implementation of company initiatives, representing LifePoint in the marketplace. Leading senior executive activities to develop short- and long-term objectives, policies, and procedures. Reviewing and approving financial reports, budgets, Managed Care contracts, and major expenditures. Directing charges for services provided internally and externally that impact operations financially. Maintaining accreditation and licensure standards of The Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulatory agencies. Analyzing operating results and taking corrective actions as needed. Qualifications
Education:
Master's Degree in Hospital Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Management, or related field is required. Experience:
3-5 years at the CEO level in a similar-sized for-profit, acute-care hospital is required; or 3-5 years as COO in a larger hospital. Exceptional physician recruitment, community relations, leadership, financial acumen, and operations management skills are essential. Benefits
