Job Description

Supervisory Capacity: Direct Reports: 20+

• Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the Production Manager (i.e. vacation, temporary workers, overtime work).
• Provide production expectations and quality feedback to team members in daily start up meetings.
• Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards are followed.
• Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operator training matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets.
• Compile KPI data and populate end of shift report. Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel.
• Ensure job training and daily job rotations are in place and enforced.

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members.
• Monitor quality of product throughout the production process.
• Participate in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives.
• Daily review of process and people to identify and implement CI opportunities.

Required Education Level

High School Graduate or Equivalent. Area of Study: General Studies. *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.

Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in production.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience within the automotive industry.
• Must be able and willing to work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
• Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)

• Just in Time (JIT) environment experience, preferred.
• Proficient organizational skills.
• Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.

• Carry Weight (Lifting up to 40 lbs.): Occasionally.
• Communication (Seeing/Talking/Hearing): Frequently.

Language Required and Preferred

Required: English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking). Preferred: None.

Personal protective equipment is required. Works closely with others, perhaps within a foot of another person. Must be able to match the pace of work to the speed of equipment.
