Job DescriptionCompany Description
ZimZee Recruiting is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer with strong experience in hardware, HDI PCB Layout experience. The engineer will help develop cutting-edge embedded hardware systems with our client in the Lehi area. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment and bring deep expertise in high-density PCB design.
Skills and Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience designing electronics hardware
- 3+ years of HDI PCB layout experience with complex stack-up configurations
- Expertise in mixed-signal circuit design
- Proficiency in Altium Designer and experience with Altium 365 Workspaces
- Strong debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers
- Familiarity with interfaces: USB, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, ADC, DAC
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Ability to anticipate firmware integration needs during hardware development
- Strong documentation, planning, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test embedded hardware systems
- Create and maintain HDI and non-HDI PCB designs in Altium Designer
- Troubleshoot, integrate, and verify hardware functionality
- Participate in peer reviews across engineering teams
- Document design decisions and testing outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product alignment
- Work closely with external partners like contract manufacturers and PCB vendors
