As a Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will provide essential care for patients undergoing dialysis treatment, working closely under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN). Your contributions will be critical in offering safe, comfortable, and high-quality care. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care:
Engage directly with patients, gathering vital statistics, initiating and monitoring dialysis treatment, terminating treatment sessions, and collecting blood samples as per physician orders. Technician Duties:
Ensure quality treatment by preparing dialysis machines, cleaning and disinfecting equipment post-treatment, and performing safety checks with meticulous logging of results. Safety and Quality:
Follow all safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment, and adhere to company policies and regulatory standards while participating in staff meetings and continuing education. The PCT position is located at our Bryan Clinic, at 1612 N Texas Ave, Bryan, TX 77803. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. A genuine passion for healthcare and patient well-being. Prior experience in healthcare, particularly in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA, is an advantage. Ability to handle chemicals such as acids and bicarbonate according to established protocols. Capability to distinguish all primary colors. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, which includes a competency demonstration within 8 weeks of hire. CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire or as mandated by the state. Obtain Patient Care Technician certification through a state program or national certification within 18 months of hire, maintaining good standing thereafter, with specific state regulations applicable.
