Roadway Engineer Location: Guaynabo, Puerto Rico Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Start Date: ASAP Salary Range: $72,800 – $93,600/year Note: Candidates must be bilingual, hold an active PE license, and be eligible to obtain reciprocity in Puerto Rico within 6 months. Background check and drug screening required. Relocation assistance is not provided. Summary: This role focuses on roadway engineering design within infrastructure and transportation projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, clients, and external stakeholders while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with PRHTA standards are essential. Key Responsibilities: Perform roadway design tasks, including alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and pavement designs. Prepare project documentation, including reports, plans, and contract documents. Support project managers and senior engineers with calculations and cost estimations. Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal and external teams. Review and oversee the work of junior engineers and technical staff. Communicate with clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies. Stay current on design standards and regulatory updates. Actively engage in professional development and mentoring. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. At least 4 years of roadway design experience. Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Strong understanding of PRHTA design standards and processes. Bilingual (Spanish/English). Active PE license with ability to obtain PR reciprocity within 6 months. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. More than 4 years of experience in roadway design. Advanced knowledge of PRHTA standards.
