Peraton is seeking a COBOL/IDMS Software Developer with experience developing and maintaining applications written using COBOL, IDMS, and JCL for IBM mainframe operating systems. The Peraton DFAS account is seeking expertise to provide Application Support Services in support of the maintenance and development of the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) project. In this role, the candidate will perform the following duties (but not limited to): Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products. Prioritize and allocate projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers. Participate in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of the software products. Make employment decisions, such as hiring and rewarding. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a multi-team or cross-functional organization. Direct software development projects to ensure they are completed on time and meet quality standards, facilitating communication upward and across project teams including project status, justifications for variances, and technical information. Organize projects through the development of a project plan which includes communication of product goals as defined by top management, definition of project strategy, roles and responsibilities, milestones, risk management, contingency plans, and resource allocation. Monitor technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities. Qualifications

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. EEO
