Lynn Community Health Center is one of Massachusetts’ largest FQHCs on the north shore of Boston. We provide comprehensive healthcare to 45,000 patients, regardless of one’s ability to pay. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optometrist to join our team.
As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional eye care services, engaging in clinical teaching, and assisting the clinical director in clinical operations. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality eye care possible.
Qualifications
Current unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Massachusetts Current controlled substance certificate Training appropriate to practice – 5 years experience or Optometry Residency Excellent customer care skills Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of quality eye care, evaluations, diagnosis and treatment Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements Knowledge of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides Ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment Residency training preferred Experience working in a community health setting preferred Strong ocular disease background preferred Responsibilities
Provide hands-on care while achieving the highest levels of appropriateness, quality, efficiency, accessibility and responsiveness Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or macular degeneration.
