Executive Director, Kane Community Living Centers
Allegheny County is seeking a highly visible and impactful leader to provide oversight of the Kane Community Living Centers, a system of four (4) community-based skilled nursing facilities located in and around Pittsburgh, PA. With an operating budget of almost $114 million and more than 600 employees and contracted staff, Kane has been providing quality care for elderly people and adults for almost 70 years. The Executive Director provides strategic direction and leadership to the Center Administrators regarding day-to-day and special operational requirements.

The Executive Director will:
Plan, develop, organize, coordinate, evaluate and direct all activities and staff of the Kane Community Living Centers.
Direct the development of all policies and procedures that govern the operations of the Kane Community Living Centers.
Oversee the development of the annual budget and fiscal policies, procedures and controls.
Partner with Allegheny County executive leadership and County Council to determine strategic priorities and operational objectives of the Kane Community Living Centers and secure input and support for program initiatives.
Assure compliance with Federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care facilities to assure that high quality care is provided to all residents.
Supervise development and funding for capital improvement programs designed to maintain and improve the physical plant and infrastructure.
Meet with members of the media, residents’ family members and the general public to provide awareness and promote Kane Community Living Centers, their operations, goals and objectives.
Oversee the development and periodic updating of long-range plans that support Kane Community Living Centers philosophy and provide for new programming initiatives to meet the community’s changing health care needs, including overseeing the development and application for public and private grants.
Represent the County at regional, state and national activities and meetings regarding the development and delivery of health care services and program initiatives.
Collaborate with union officials representing the Center’s workforce to discuss and inform them of operational requirements, resolve problems/issues and to participate actively in contract negotiations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Health Administration, Business Administration, Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
At least six (6) years of experience in a managerial capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility.
Pennsylvania Nursing Home Administrator’s license preferred.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, laws and rules relating to the operation and administration of long-term care facilities, including applicable life safety codes.
Knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines governing collective bargaining and human resources administration.
