Nice-Pak Products, Inc. (NP) is the global developer, manufacturer, and marketer of pre-moistened wipes for the consumer market, specializing in personal care, hygiene, household cleaning, and disinfection products. We are currently looking for a Non Wovens Engineer working in our Montvale, NJ facility. POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this role is to support business-critical activities relating to the development and commercialization of nonwoven materials. This role works as a team member to develop and implement new materials, processes, or technology concepts. This role will support nonwoven innovation and product development from concept to commercialization. This position will lead assigned projects and day-to-day technical communication with our suppliers and work closely with Procurement and R&D to identify, develop, and commercialize new products. Additionally, this position will be responsible for all technical testing and validation of the nonwoven finished products internally and with partner suppliers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: Analyze data and provide insights and recommendations based on the data. Support material or process projects from conception through commercialization. Plan and carry out projects with direction from management. Communicate and document project plans to internal teams. Deliver project objectives in the initiation, design, development, and optimization of Nonwovens after receiving functional guidance. Seek, recognize, define, and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause and develop and recommend solutions. Develop and test new wet wipe prototypes to support the growth objectives of the business. Test products and prototypes, comparing to benchmarks or competitor products for marketing presentations, laboratory evaluation, consumer and clinical testing. Support product scale-up and line trials. Analyze competitor products and evaluate raw materials used. Identify opportunities and make recommendations for prototype development. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS: Achievement: Ability to deliver technical work on time, without issue, and in a quality manner. Ownership: Ability to demonstrate strong ownership of assigned projects and project work – ability to work independently. Partnership Skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and work as part of a team to achieve objectives. Entrepreneurial Skills: Ability to demonstrate creativity in the role, explore new and more efficient ways of working, and contribute new product ideas. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering required. Master’s Degree is an advantage. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Strong scientific principles (statistical analysis, design of experiments, problem-solving, root cause analysis). Understanding of nonwovens, nonwovens manufacturing processes, and the nonwovens supply chain. Previous experience with nonwovens used in personal care or surface cleaning products is a plus. Strong understanding of the product development process from concept ideation to launch. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Preferred but not required to have experience in a technical function or related technical function pertaining to materials and processes within the nonwoven and wipes supply chain (fibers, polymers, etc.). SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal skills to nurture teamwork and foster an environment of achievement. Results-oriented and self-motivated. Ability to multi-task, with strong time management skills. Ability to display flexibility and adapt to change. Excellent communication and networking skills. Proactive, independent, and a willingness to take on new challenges. MS Office, statistical analysis, strong communication skills, current with the wet-wipe market trends, including new items and applications. WORKING CONDITIONS: Laboratory environment with some visits to the manufacturing facilities and supplier partners for trials.
