Description
The Town of Needham is seeking a passionate individual to fill the seasonal part-time position of Golf League Coordinator within the Park & Recreation Department. This position is ideal for those looking to use their golf skills to tabulate scores and organize tee times at Needham Golf Club.
Position: Part-Time, non-exempt (roughly 10 hours/week during Spring, Summer, and Fall)
Schedule: Tuesdays 9am - 12pm during the golf season, and as needed the rest of the week
CON #25083Duties and Responsibilities
- Early Season - using Park and Recreation's list of registered players in the league, set up e-mail distribution lists of the Spring and/or Fall players for use throughout the season with Champions League players.
- Weekly - Prepare a Tee sheet with start times for all players, accommodating their preferences or willingness to mix players of similar skill.
- Meet players on Tuesday morning at Needham Golf Club ahead of the first tee time at 9am, taking attendance of all players every week and reporting number of players to staff at the club.
- Leave the Champions League scorecard collection box on site so that players can leave their cards in the box after play.
- After play, collect score box and process all the scorecards using a simplified 'handicap' system.
- Develop a scoring system (e.g. points for Wins/Losses/Ties) so that at the end of the Fall Season, a Champions match can be set up and a new Champion awarded the trophy.
- End of Season - Tally attendance overall and week by week, for appropriate adjustments/credits by Park and Rec. and for billing by Needham Golf Club.
Requirements
Position requires general golf knowledge and the ability to tabulate scores.
