Your Impact
The HR Specialist will help create a strong work culture and lead the hiring and HR efforts of the firm. You will lead the external and internal recruitment, performance management, total rewards programs, and the onboarding and offboarding processes. This role will be central to the HR team and will work closely with management to make our company a great workplace.
RECRUITING & ONBOARDING (40%)
- Execute the full life cycle recruiting process in collaboration with our management teams, including sourcing, screening, interview scheduling, offers, and background checks.
- Coordinate our internal staffing and promotion process.
- Plan and track the recruiting budget, including all vendor contracts and third-party recruiters.
- Administer the Applicant Tracking System and evaluation tools (Greenhouse and Culture Index).
- Develop sourcing strategies for open roles while expanding the pipeline with a focus on diversity.
- In partnership with Marketing, build the Newcastle and Reside Living employment brand on social media and other real estate industry associations.
HR OPERATIONS (35%)
- Onboarding new employees to integrate them into the business and create a positive first impression of our firm.
- Support firm-wide meetings, including communication plans, content building, and organizing logistics with the team.
- Offboarding by working closely with our IT and payroll teams.
- Coordinate the leave of absence programs, including short-term disability, maternity, and workers' compensation claims.
- Provide HR and compliance reporting (EEO-1, OSHA).
- Conduct the unemployment program and reporting requirements.
- Assist with special projects across other departments as needed.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT (15%)
- Facilitate the new hire, mid-year, and the annual review processes through our performance management system, Trakstar.
- Partner with the SVP of HR to execute programs that expand career development opportunities for our employees.
- Work with our benefit providers to implement the total rewards program, including activities and support for open enrollment.
- Coordinate payroll and benefits support with our outsourced provider to ensure a smooth experience for employees.
- Help resolve employee questions about benefits and help as needed.
- Collaborate with the SVP of HR to manage and execute our compensation program, including the year-end process.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated work experience in human resources and recruiting.
- Real estate experience is helpful but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including mail merge, pivot tables, and ability to develop PowerPoint presentations.
- Proficiency with or the ability to learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- Experience with HR laws, including Short Term Disability, Workers Compensation, and FMLA.
- Experience with HR compliance reporting including EEO-1 and workers compensation.
- Strong data reporting and analytical skills.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
