We are actively searching for a skilled and experienced physician to join our team and provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care across a diverse patient population. This locum tenens position offers a temporary commitment from September to December 2024, allowing you to contribute your expertise during a crucial timeframe. Why You'll Thrive Here: Diverse Clinical Experience: Gain experience in a variety of obstetrical and gynecological procedures, encompassing low-risk pregnancies, deliveries, gynecological surgeries, and in-office procedures. Supportive Team Environment: Collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure optimal patient care, with details about support staff to be determined (TBD). Advanced Technology: Utilize the Cerner electronic medical records system to streamline documentation and communication. Community Focus: Contribute your expertise to a growing healthcare system in a community setting. What You'll Do: Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including: Inpatient rounding for established obstetrical and gynecological patients. Clinic coverage for scheduled appointments. Emergency department consultations for obstetrical and gynecological needs. Manage a patient load averaging 2 inpatients and 2 outpatients per day. Perform a variety of procedures, including: Low-risk pregnancy management and fetal heart rate interpretation. Ultrasounds, amniocentesis, routine and complicated deliveries. VBAC deliveries (vaginal birth after cesarean section). Repair of lacerations (3rd and 4th degree). In-office procedures such as IUD placement, colposcopy, LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision procedure), cryosurgery, and minor gynecological procedures. Operative procedures for ectopic pregnancy, ovarian removal, cystectomy, and laparoscopic ovarian ablations (LOAs). Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatment plans, and interventions thoroughly and efficiently within the Cerner electronic medical records system. Who You Are: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (required). Current and active license to practice medicine in Michigan (required). ATLS certification (required). A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care within a collaborative and team-oriented environment. Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
