River’s Edge Group Home, located in Thompson, CT, on the border of JRI’s Susan Wayne Center of Excellence, serves adolescent girls ages 13–20 with behavioral, mental health, and cognitive challenges.
We are seeking Relief Residential Counselors to support the development and growth of young adults facing emotional challenges. Our counselors are committed to learning effective skills, engaging creatively, and providing a safe environment. We maintain structured routines and ensure safety through 24-hour supervision and direct care.
Schedule:
Part-time, Per Diem
Salary:
$18.00/hr
Overtime may be mandated due to the nature of the work.
Responsibilities include:
Performing direct care responsibilities within the group home.
Supervising students, maintaining safety and security per policies.
Modeling professional behavior and handling special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be 21 or older.
High School Diploma required; college preferred.
Experience in group homes, residential programs, or mental health preferred.
Valid Driver’s License.
Training in physical interventions and de-escalation provided.
Background and driving record checks required.
