Our transformative logistics client is setting the standard for forward thinking solutions to deliver the highest level of value add to their customers. This company supports services like e-commerce fulfillment, warehousing and distribution, with transportation management. They are seeking a Transportation Specialist to join their team! As a Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for customer service, order entry, load tracking for all modes of transportation, and freight pay resolution.
Opportunity: Contract (approx. 1 year in duration)Pay
- $24/hour
Location: Hagerstown, MD - 100% on site
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm
- Possible overtime and Saturday work required
- Coordinate and schedule delivery appointments to ensure timely and efficient transportation, aligning with operational schedules and customer requirements.
- Conduct freight tendering and carrier selection by utilizing a routing guide to identify and choose the most suitable carriers based on cost, efficiency, and reliability.
- Monitor carrier performance and address compliance issues by tracking key metrics such as on-time delivery, service quality, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Perform data entry tasks and track-and-trace shipments to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on shipment status.
- Handle freight payment and claims resolution processes by verifying freight invoices, resolving discrepancies, and managing claims for damaged or lost shipments.
- 1 year of experience in an administrative role
- Solid attention to detail with the ability to multitask
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Prior transportation/supply chain experience preferred
